The Department of Psychiatry at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Temple offers numerous programs and locations to help patients seeking psychiatric care to find the resources they need to improve their quality of life. The department provides comprehensive diagnostic services including diagnostic interview, psychopharmacology, neuromodulation, group and individual psychotherapy, and care for substance use services.

Our treatment teams are made up of board-certified psychiatrists, psychiatry Residents and Fellows, psychologists, Advanced Practice Providers and other allied health professionals, all working to help you towards your treatment goals.

PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTING

We provide psychological testing as indicated, including to assess patients for procedures such as surgery for weight loss, left-ventricular assist devices, pain medication pumps, and dorsal column stimulators

RESIDENCY PROGRAM

We have a residency program in psychiatry, a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry, a fellowship in psychology. We also teach medical, nursing, and physician assistant students. Residents, fellows, and students may be involved with your care. Teaching residents, fellows and students helps to keep us in touch with the latest research, ensuring that you receive the most modern care.

Child and adolescent services

We offer psychiatric evaluation and medication management, psychological testing, and evidenced-based psychotherapy services for a variety of psychiatric conditions in children and adolescents. Our mission is to empower families to work together in an honest and open manner, so they can develop skills to help their child meet their potential while minimizing reliance on medication.
