Adrenal cancer occurs when cells in the adrenal glands begin changing and multiplying out of control. There are several types of adrenal cancer and the most common are cancer of the adrenal cortex (outer layer of the adrenal gland) and pheochromocytoma (inside layer of the adrenal gland).

Adrenal Cancer Treatment

Certain tumors respond better to certain treatments. Adrenal gland tumors are commonly treated with surgery. However, a combination of treatment methods may be needed.

Your treatment plan will be determined by your care team based on age, medical history, type and stage of adrenal cancer, and personal preferences. Options may include:

  • Active Surveillance (careful watching and waiting)
  • Cirugía
    • Adrenalectomy
    • Posterior Retroperitoneoscopic Adrenalectomy (PRA)
    • Robot-Assisted Posterior Retroperitoneoscopic Adrenalectomy (RAPRA)

The multidisciplinary group of physicians on the medical staff has the specialized training and the experience necessary to diagnose, evaluate and treat endocrine tumors.
