The following is the criteria for outreach activities involving Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital in Dallas and Fort Worth (BSWHVH):

• As per the system-level laboratory leadership, BSWHVH will not conduct blood glucose screening.
• BSWHVH will not be able to accept requests nor participate in leading cholesterol screenings for events that will host more than 100 people or occur outdoors. Furthermore, cholesterol screening events will require:
  • The coordinator for the event will alert attendees that fasting is preferred for cholesterol screening.
  • A clinical counselor be available, in accordance with American Heart Association guidelines, should a number indicate an out-of-normal range.
• BSWHVH will accept requests for blood pressure screenings on a case-by-case basis with at least a one-month notice and pending staff availability to conduct the screening, as well as the availability of a clinical counselor should a blood pressure reading be out of normal range, in accordance with the American Heart Association guidelines.
• BSWHVH reserves the right to deny groups of less than 50 attendees, depending on availability.
• BSWHVH will not attend an event at a fee or cost. Services performed will be an in-kind donation.

The committee understands that the appropriate screening forms in compliance with Baylor Scott & White Health guidelines will be completed for each participant. These forms will be aggregated and turned into the Director of Marketing for safekeeping and inclusion in the year-end Community Benefit Report.
