Visiting a Patient at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – McKinney

While visits from relatives and friends can play an important part in recovery, they can also be tiring. It is in the patients’ best interest to get all of the rest they can while in the hospital. If you feel uncomfortable asking people to limit their visits, you might ask a family member or friend to coordinate your visits for you. We do have some requests of our visitors at Baylor Scott & White – McKinney:

  • ​​Try to keep visits brief and to only two people at any given time
  • An adult should accompany any minor children and not leave them unattended
  • Wash your hands before and after visit a patient to avoid spreading germs
  • If you are ill, including cold and flu, please wait until you are well for your visit
  • Please be respectful of other patients and minimize any unnecessary noise
  • If you plan to bring food to a patient, please check with the nursing staff as some diets are restricted
  • No smoking on the Baylor Scott & White – McKinney campus
  • Please leave a patient’s room during tests, treatments or when a doctor or nurse needs to consult with the patient
