  • Cobertura

    Introducción

    Our health coverage runs from Jan. 1 - Dec. 31 of each year. Employees, spouses and children who meet the eligibility requirements below are eligible for coverage by our benefits program.

    For new hires or newly benefits-eligible employees, you have 31 days from your date of hire or benefit eligibility date to complete your enrollment.

    Once completed, your coverage begins right away. If you do not complete your enrollment within this timeframe, you will not be able to elect benefits until the next scheduled annual enrollment period or within 31 days of a qualifying life event.

    Do you or a family member in your household have Medicaid coverage?

    You could qualify for the TX HIPP program, which reimburses your BSWHP insurance premiums and allows Medicaid to stay in place for you and eligible family members.

    Eligible

    The following are eligible to enroll:

    • Full-time employee
    • Part-time employee working 20-29 hours per week
    • Cónyuge o cónyuge de hecho
    • Your children or spouse's children up to the age of 26*, including:
      • Niños naturales
      • Hijastro
      • Niños adoptados legalmente
      • Niños en proceso de adopción legal
      • Niños de crianza
      • Niños cubiertos por una orden médica calificada de manutención infantil
      • Hijos de los cuales tienes tutela legal

    Note: If you and a dependent both work for Baylor Scott & White, only one can be covered as a dependent.

    * Sujeto a aprobación, el límite de edad no se aplica si el niño no está casado, está incapacitado física y mentalmente y no puede ganarse la vida de manera independiente; depende de usted por lo menos 50% del apoyo financiero; reclamado por usted como dependiente de impuestos federales; y discapacitado y cubierto por el plan antes de la edad 26 (a menos que sea un nuevo empleado o sea elegible para beneficios nuevos).

    Important! When you add new dependents on our benefit plans (during initial or annual enrollment, or following a qualified life event), you will receive a request from the Dependent Verification Center. This step is important to ensure your dependents remain covered and only eligible dependents receive benefits.
