Tiempo libre pagado (PTO)
Team members who are eligible for the Paid Time Off program accrue PTO and are eligible for our annual PTO sell/donate campaign.

Regular full and part time team members are eligible for the paid time off (PTO) program, except those who are 7 on/7 off, Advance Practice Professionals (APP) shift providers, PRNs, contingent/contract workers, practicing physicians, covered under the tracking-free time off policy (TFTO).
Cómo funciona
Accruing and using your PTO
Eligible team members earn PTO to use for holidays, vacations, sick days and other personal reasons.
- You start accruing PTO on your first day of work.
- Accrual is based on the number of regular hours you work (up to your standard hours) and years of service.

Campaña PTO Sell / Donate
While there is no substitute for taking time away from work to rest and recharge, eligible employees* can choose to sell and/or donate PTO during our annual campaign, running each fall.

- Sell PTO: If you sell PTO, you will receive 90% of your hourly pay rate multiplied by the number of hours sold. The amount sold will be subject to applicable payroll taxes and is 401(k) eligible.
- To sell part of your PTO bank, you must: Sell a minimum of eight hours; Maitain a balance of 16 hours to ensure available time off for holidays, sick time, etc.
- Donate PTO: If you donate to a BSW Foundation and/or United Way, you can designate your donation to the areas of need that matter most to you.

*Excludes employees who receive sick time only and/or are already paid out annually as part of another program (e.g. 7 on/7 off), PRNs, contingent/contract employees, stipend paid employees, residents, tracking-free time off (TFTO) eligible employees, physicians and medical directors.

- This program excludes team members who are 7 on/7 off, PRN, Shift Providers, TDA, contingent or contract workers, and physicians

- Team members request time off from their leader; no coding/tracking necessary.
1 Corporate defined as those in the following job families: Community Affairs, Corporate Governance, Customer Service, Finance, Human Resources (HR), Informatics, Information Technology (IT), Marketing/Sales, Office/Clerical, Revenue Cycle and Supply Chain as well as employees in company “Baylor Scott & White Health” (999).
2 Time off prorated based on hire date and FTE.
3 If absence extends beyond one week, time off due to illness/injury may be paid under the voluntary STD plan, if coverage elected and the disability claim is approved.

Physician time off practices are aligned across our Medical Groups and designed to support ease and flexibility in scheduling time away.

- Continuing Medical Education (CME) time is not included in PPTO and is a separate benefit.
- Eligible physicians follow department processes for requesting time off and tracking is managed locally or at the department/leader level.
