About Brody Flanagin, MD

Brody Flanagin, MD is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in arthroscopic, reconstructive, and replacement surgery of the shoulder and elbow. He has a particular interest in complex arthroscopic and open reconstructive and replacement surgery of the shoulder as well as treatment of fractures involving the shoulder. Dr. Flanagin earned his medical degree at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine before completing his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Yale University School of Medicine. He then completed a fellowship in Shoulder & Elbow surgery in Dallas at the Carrell Clinic/Baylor University Medical Center. Following his fellowship, Dr. Flanagin spent additional time with Dr. Gilles Walch and Prof. Pascal Boileau in France before starting his practice learning advanced shoulder reconstructive techniques. Dr. Flanagin treats patients of all ages and levels of activity who are trying to overcome traumatic and degenerative injuries involving the shoulder and elbow. Dr. Flanagin believes in providing personal and compassionate care which is tailored specifically in order to meet the individual needs of his patients and help them achieve an active, pain-free lifestyle. He is an active fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) and American Shoulder & Elbow Surgeons (ASES). He is the author of many peer-reviewed scientific papers and book chapters and has presented at national meetings.

The entire experience was pleasant from checking in, small wait time, personnel greeting and walking me back. Dr. Flanagin was exceptional. Provided great care and was able to ease some of the shoulder pain (frozen shoulder) that I was / am experiencing. Would highly recommend Dr Flanagin and the facility to anyone!

The Doctor spent an ample amount of time to evaluate and explain his findings. I was pleased with the service. Only reason I wouldn't recommend this facility is the wait time. You have to be prepared to see the room clear out at least twice while you finally get back. This was not our first experience with this office and it is consistent. Great doctors though.

I called got an appointment the next day I got the appointment they got me in right at the time I was supposed to be met with the doctor had an x-ray discuss what we were going to do he want an MRI left there and got an MRI that afternoon. Everything's great.

I was impressed by the care I received from Dr. Flanigan during my final follow-up office visit, which was 10 months after fracturing my shoulder. I was expecting a very quick routine visit with the doctor since my shoulder was essentially healed, but Dr. Flanigan did a thorough evaluation, explained the X-ray results, and answered my questions. I can recommend Dr. Flanigan without reservation.

I love Dr's bedside manner. He gave me his complete attention and EYE CONTACT as he spoke to me. He recalled (or refreshed) details from my previous visit and mentioned that in our conversation. That made me feel important and like he cared about me. He answered all my questions and assured me that I had time and choices regarding shoulder surgery. He cares! I had several questions with my 3 1/2 month checkup and he answered them all. He was not in a hurry like many doctors are with patients. My husband and I really like him!! I traveled 2 1/2 hours for him to care for me and will continue, if needed. Am not able to get the quality of care he gives at my home location.
