He TRULY LISTENED to me and treated me like I matter as a fellow human being, which is unfortunately very, very rare to find in the medical field.....especially physicians. I really wish that medical schools would train physicians to treat their patients with dignity, basic respect, and to take our symptoms & concerns seriously. The ones going into medicine need to undergo a psychological exam to weed out the would-be physicians, and the ability to have compassion and empathy for others should be a requirement. Dr. Mazen Iskandar also treated my mother's hernia and everything went unbelievably smooth: Post-op meds were delivered to her hospital bed (in recovery) as they were discharging her, so there was absolutely NO hassle at the pharmacy after her surgery. Lastly, I felt truly heard/listened to, taken seriously when I was presenting my symptoms and medical hx, plus there were NO judgemental/personal biased comments about my chronic pain, certain controversial medications I genuinely need to take, and I REALLY WISH more physicians would leave their own implicit biases, unfair snap judgements revolving around their personal beliefs (moral, religious, etc) AT HOME! If more physicians (and upper management, such as administrators, CEOs, etc) were like Dr. Mazen Iskandar, the American "healthcare" system would be in a MUCH BETTER place and it wouldn't be on the verge of collapse like it seems to be today. I'm looking forward to having Dr. Iskandar treat my symptoms and esophagus/GI tract issues, because I am confident that he will listen to me and take me seriously. | |
