Dra. Samata Basani

"Dr. Basani specializes in treating diseases and illnesses that affect the endocrine system, including the glands that control many of our hormones dictating growth and reproduction. She started her journey in medicine at the Alluri Sitaram Raju Academy of Medical Sciences in India, where she was born. After graduating from the academy, Dr. Basani attended three postdoctoral training programs as part of her internship and residency program. The first program brought her to Atlanta Medical Center, where Dr. Basani served as a resident in Internal Medicine. After completing that training, Dr. Basani assumed the role of Chief Medical Resident also at Atlanta Medical Center. Finally, Dr. Basani made her move to Texas to complete her fellowship in Endocrinology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. During her education, Dr. Basani received numerous honors, including ""Best Clinical Fellow"" during her time as an Endocrinology Fellow at UT Southwestern. Dr. Basani is also a member of a number of medical associations and societies, including the American Diabetes Association, the Endocrine Society and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, to name a few. Dr. Basani is fluent in four languages, including English, Hindi, Urdu and Telugu. Outside of work, Dr. Basani enjoys spending time with her two children and gardening."
