Wherever you are in your pregnancy journey, our experienced healthcare team is with you every step of the way. We want you to feel safe, comfortable and supported throughout preconception, pregnancy, delivery and beyond. When the time comes, our labor and delivery team is ready around the clock. Whether you are a first-time mom or a delivery room veteran, we are here to provide you with a birth experience as individual as your new bundle of joy.

McLennan County’s only dedicated Women’s & Children’s Center is located at Baylor Scott & White – Hillcrest. The Center includes a comprehensive OB-GYN program and the area’s only Level III neonatal intensive care unit.

Lactation specialists are onsite to educate and assist moms with the benefits of breastfeeding and skin-to-skin contact, types of breast milk, dietary requirements for mothers, proper positioning and latch-on, storage of breast milk, baby’s daily feeding schedule and other helpful resources available to them.

Parent education classes and resources

At Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Hillcrest, we have cultivated resources that will help prepare you for your new family. Our parent education classes are inclusive and comprehensive – no matter your birth philosophy, we have a class to meet your needs!

Childbirth and parenthood are major life changes, and preparations for those changes can offer comfort. To help you prepare, we offer group pregnancy and childbirth classes as well as classes held specifically for mothers, fathers, siblings, grandparents and babysitters.

Register for an Online Childbirth Class

Our online childbirth class includes information on various topics related to childbirth. From the comfort of your home, you and your spouse are able to explore information on the ways your body changes with pregnancy, the labor and birth process, pain management options, information for your labor support team, caring for yourself postpartum, and newborn care. This course is free to the community.

Breastfeeding Class

Register for a Breastfeeding Class

This one-session introduction to breastfeeding focuses on techniques for initiating nursing during the early weeks with your newborn and maintaining a successful breastfeeding experience. All classes are taught by certified lactation consultants. Classes are intended for females only.

The class costs $10. Space is limited, so participants are encouraged to sign up for classes three to four months prior to due date.
