Douglas Scott Maxey, MD

Dr. Maxey is a board-certified anesthesiologist with a subspecialty board certification in pain medicine. He strives to provide his patients with unparalleled care and uses a comprehensive approach to the management of pain. His professional areas of interest include spinal cord stimulation, radiofrequency denervation, and multimodal pharmacologic management of pain. Dr. Maxey attended University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for his pain medicine fellowship during which he was trained in advanced pain therapies and interventional techniques. He presented numerous lectures regarding current issues in pain management. Prior to fellowship training, he completed his anesthesiology residency at Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center. During residency, he traveled to the Dominican Republic for a medical mission trip with Project Ear, providing anesthetic care for patients undergoing ENT surgical procedures. Dr. Maxey completed an internship and anesthesiology externship at West Virginia University Hospital. Dr. Maxey is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA), the American Medical Association (AMA), the International Spine Intervention Society (ISIS), the American Society Of Interventional Pain Physicians (ASIPP) and the Texas Pain Society.
