Howard jay heller, md

Howard J. Heller, MD is fellowship trained and board certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. Dr. Heller treats all adult endocrinology disorders, except for reproductive endocrinology. His key interests include mineral disorders such as osteoporosis, kidney stone prevention, metabolic bone disease, disorders of calcium, phosphorus and magnesium. Dr. Heller is also interested in diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia and thyroid disorders. Dr. Heller earned his medical degree from the University of Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He stayed on campus to complete his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. Following his fellowship, Dr. Heller joined the University of Texas Southwestern faculty, rising to Associate Professor during his 11 year stay. During that time he treated patients, performed clinical research, published articles and chapters, and taught fellows, house staff and medical students. Dr. Heller is currently welcoming new patients and accepts most insurance plans.
