4.6 noviembre 24, 2023 What helps me the most is when doctors explain why I have painful symptoms and to help me look for all ways to Increase my quality of life, not just medication but other ways, supplements or exercises or massage or anything holistic, if surgery is not affordable right now. Even if there is nothing else I can do just understanding why the pain happens and how my body is deficient in some way and maybe support groups or someone who has knowledge of how to live with painful condition without having to wear constrictive devices or surgery. Maybe understanding can help me accept it. I will also pursue therapy. Pain is just a hard thing. But the doctor is very kind. She seems young but smart. I hope she can be patient with us aging folks. Compassion goes a long way because some conditions that's the only way to treat the person instead of the symptoms is with patience and encouragement. She gave me some of that at my recent appointment and it helped a lot. It gives a patient comfort and strength when they know their doctor cares and listens when they tell them about the pain. Not because we want drugs or them to fix our lives but just for someone to understand how frustrating and hard it is to live in pain each day.
