Biografía
I’ve been working in mental health care for over 10 years, helping people find meaningful ways to care for their emotional well-being. I now specialize in working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, PTSD, and OCD—people who are dealing with difficult thoughts and feelings and noticing that their usual coping strategies just aren’t working anymore—and who are open to exploring a new way forward. What can clients expect in their first interaction with me? My path to becoming a talk therapist wasn’t exactly straight, but when I look back, it all fits together. In high school, I was deeply involved in a youth group, which grounded me in my values of service, empathy, and community. From there, every job I took centered around working directly with people navigating serious mental illness, housing instability, and trauma. I now specialize in working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, PTSD, and OCD—people who are dealing with difficult thoughts and feelings and noticing that their usual coping strategies just aren’t working anymore—and who are open to exploring a new way forward. What’s my role in our work together? I really value giving people practical tools they can use in their day-to-day lives. I draw a lot from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which helps us respond more flexibly to difficult thoughts and feelings while staying grounded in what truly matters. In sessions, I focus on teaching skills and introducing digital therapy tools that are available in your personalized care plan through the app. This might include breathing exercises, education, or guided practices you can use between sessions. Everything is flexible, though—we always adjust based on what you need that day. What do I want clients to take away from working with me? I’m pretty much the same on screen as I am in person. I like to start sessions by checking in—how my patients are doing, whether there’s anything they want to prioritize that day—and then we work together to make the most of our time. I genuinely enjoy getting to know people: what they care about, their hobbies and interests, and of course I always love it when pets make an appearance on screen. What’s something I wish more people knew about therapy? Therapy is partly an exploration, so even if you come in with a specific concern—or you’re not totally sure what’s wrong—that’s completely okay. We can work together to sort out what isn’t working and identify meaningful steps toward positive change in your life.
