The gastroenterology fellowship in Fort Worth is a three-year program that encompasses a broad scope of gastrointestinal and liver related diseases

Our fellowship is aligned with the TCU Burnett School of Medicine with a mission to provide excellent care for patients in our community.

We are approved to accept up to three (3) GI fellows per year.

Procedimientos


Our fellows receive training in procedures for a wide variety of gastrointestinal and liver disorders.

Procedures fellows are exposed to include:

  • Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, including dilation of strictures and percutaneous gastrostomy, endoscopic ultrasound and therapeutic endoscopy, including ERCP, interventional EUS, stenting
  • Small bowel endoscopy
  • Colonoscopy, including polypectomy
  • Clinical and endoscopic management of gastrointestinal hemorrhage, including the use of cautery, clips and bands
  • Performance and interpretation of esophageal manometry and pH testing
  • Cápsula endoscópica
  • POEM (peroral endoscopic myotomy)

We use the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) to electronically accept residency applications, letters of recommendations, dean’s letters, transcripts and other credentials directly from your medical school.

We participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) and abide by its policies.

Applicants must be graduates of or currently participating in an accredited Internal Medicine residency program. Fellows cannot begin training until they have successfully completed an internal medicine residency program.
