The Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine - Scott & White Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
Our three-year program emphasizes clinical experience and educational excellence in preparation for certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Medical Oncology and Hematology.
We accept two fellows per year.

We are a combined Hematology/Oncology 3-year fellowship. We accept two fellows each year, totaling six fellows for the program.
We have 10 faculty that serve as attending in your training with a mixture of some purely hematology, solid tumors, both and researchers. Our faculty all have a specialty of interest which would give you the opportunity to confer and learn from experts in their field.
Our academic affiliation is with The Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine. The Scott & White Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship Program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
Our cancer treatment teams consist of other oncological fields that are integral to major cancer centers such as radiation oncology, gynecology oncology, surgical oncology, and palliative care.
We have a well-established blood bank and transfusion medicine program that provides resources for the treatment of complex hematological emergencies.

Rotaciones
The three-year training program is composed of the following rotations:
- Two months inpatient primary service first and second year (one-week rotations)
- Two months of inpatient consult service first and second year (two-week rotations, no weekends)
- Two weeks inpatient primary service third year (outpatient focus)
- Six weeks inpatient consult service third year
- Six weeks VA oncology clinic each year
- Four months of outpatient consultation service, including hematology, solid tumor medical oncology, gynecologic oncology and radiation oncology each year
- Two months of clinical electives
- Two months of protected research time (over three years as electives)
- One half-day continuity care clinic throughout the entire three years
- Once weekly non-neoplastic hematology ambulatory clinic
- One month of palliative care medicine
- One month of allogeneic blood and marrow transplantation at Baylor Dallas

Conferences are designed to provide teaching in all areas of clinical hematology and oncology and include:
- Didactic Fellows Conference — Weekly
- Journal Club — Monthly at faculty homes
- Bone Marrow Simulation
- Multidisciplinary Tumor Board Meetings — Weekly (10 tumor sites)
- Hem/Onc board review — Weekly
- Internal Medicine Grand Rounds — Weekly
- Fellows also participate in Internal Medicine Morning Report and IM Resident Education Conferences
- Oncology Research Conference — Monthly

Cómo aplicar
We use the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) to electronically accept fellowship applications, letters of recommendations, dean’s letters, transcripts and other credentials directly from your medical school.
Requerimientos de aplicacion
Applicants must have completed an ACGME-accredited, three-year internal medicine residency.
Eligible applicants should also provide:
- Transcript from medical school
- Dean's letter
- Three letters of reference from medical school faculty or residency/fellowship experience (if applicable)
- Curriculum vitae/resume
- Record of other graduate medical experience, if applicable
- ECFMG certificate (if international medical graduate)
- USMLE III must be taken and passed. Scores and dates USMLE II and III must be noted in your application.
- Recent photograph
Personal statement:
- The personal statement describes your professional interests, achievements, reasons for choosing specialty of training and plans for the future.
- Reference should be made to research experience and training, special projects or scientific work you have engaged in and any notable professional accomplishments you have achieved.
- You may also wish to describe your personal interests, activities and circumstances.
