Advanced technology and innovative techniques

Our heart failure teams offer access to a range of innovative options through our hospitals and clinics. While the initial treatment of heart failure often includes lifestyle changes, medications and other nonsurgical care, Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital also has highly specialized programs to care for the most advanced heart failure cases.

Our hospitals feature advanced technology and minimally invasive surgical options to help repair underlying causes of heart failure. For serious cases, some of our locations also have dedicated teams for temporary heart support with the Impella device or extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and long-term support with ventricular assist devices (VADs), offering lifesaving care that’s only available at specialized heart centers.

Virtual support

To keep you more connected and in control of your heart failure care, our team continues to work on virtual care platforms and monitoring options to assist with ongoing heart failure management. Through these solutions, we’re increasing access to care and expanding the impact of our resources to improve heart failure outcomes.

A multidisciplinary approach to your health

With our heart team approach, you’ll benefit from the expertise and perspectives of multiple providers who work together as one team. Our heart failure programs and centers give you access to physicians who specialize in heart failure care, cardiac surgeons, ventricular assist device specialists, registered dietitians, pharmacists, social workers and more.

By bringing all of these services together, you have the resources you need to take charge of your well-being, manage symptoms and slow the progression of heart failure. Instead of fragmented care, our approach offers dedicated one-on-one support that guides you through your diagnosis, treatment options and long-term management of heart failure.
