Since 2007, physicians on the medical staff of Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital – Plano and its nearly 1,000 employees have worked tirelessly to deliver safe, quality, compassionate care.

2019

  • Received U.S. News & World Report's ranking as the 27th in the nation in "Cardiology & Heart Surgery" and rated "High Performing" in five adult procedures/conditions: abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, aortic valve surgery, heart bypass surgery, congestive heart failure and lung cancer surgery.

2018

  • Received U.S. News & World Report's ranking as the 21st in the nation in "Cardiology & Heart Surgery" and rated "High Performing" in five adult procedures/conditions: abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, aortic valve surgery, heart bypass surgery, heart failure and lung cancer surgery.

2017

  • Received five stars, the highest possible rating, in the latest Medicare Overall Hospital Rating Program for the Overall Hospital Quality. By earning five stars, the hospital is rated in the top eight percent nationally for overall quality.
  • Received U.S. News & World Report's ranking as the 16​th in the nation in "Cardiology & Heart Surgery" and rated "High Performing" in five adult procedures/conditions: abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, aortic valve surgery, heart bypass surgery, heart failure and lung cancer surgery.
  • ​One of 28 physician-owned hospitals receiving 92% or more of their patients reporting on HCAHPS surveys that they would definitely recommend the hospital as reported by Becker's Hospital Review. The national average is 72%.
  • Ranked as one of the "Top 44 Hospitals Patients Would Definitely Recommend" on the patients' HCAHPS survey through Becker's Hospital Review.
  • Received two green arrows (Better Than Expected) for Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery and Aortic Valve Replacement Surgery by Consumer Reports.
  • Healthgrades named Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital – Plano as one of the top hospitals for patient experience in 2017.
  • Quality Team wins the People's Choice Award at the National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR) conference.
  • Received a three-star participation award, the highest possible star rating, from the Vascular Quality Initiative (VQI). Only 13% participating centers received three stars.
  •  Ranked in the 59 hospitals with the lowest Emergency Department wait times where patients spent an average of four minutes or less in the emergency department before being seen by a healthcare professional as reported by Becker's Hospital Review. Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital – Plano​'s wait time is three minutes with the national average door to diagnostic evaluation time being 22 minutes.
  • Ranked in the 57 best overall patient-rated hospitals with 91% of patients giving an overall care rating of nine or 10 on the patients' HCAHPS survey through Becker's Hospital Review. The national average is 72%.

2016

  • Ranked with a 30-day heart attack mortality rate of 11.5% by Becker's Hospital Review. The national average is 14.1%.
  • Received Press Ganey's Pinnacle of Excellence Award®, which recognizes organizations who have maintained consistently high levels of excellence over three years in patient experience, employee engagement, physician engagement or clinical quality performance. And, received its Guardian of Excellence Award® honoring clients who have reached the 95th percentile for patient experience, employee or physician engagement, or clinical quality performance.
  • Received U.S. News & World Report's ranking as the 18th in the nation in "Cardiology & Heart Surgery" and rated "High Performing" in five Adult Procedures/Conditions: Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Aortic Valve Surgery, Heart Bypass Surgery, Heart Failure, and Lung Cancer Surgery.
  • Recognized as one of the nation's "Top 55 hospitals patients would definitely recommend" by Becker's Hospital Review.>
  • Received the Mission: Lifeline®​ Gold Receiving Center Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer severe heart attacks.​
  • Received official notification from the ANCC Magnet® Commission that the hospital had earned re-designation as a Magnet® hospital.
  • ​​Received three-star quality rating, the highest rating possible, from The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) for coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG), aortic valve replacement surgery (AVR), and aortic valve replacement surgery plus coronary artery bypass graft surgery (AVR + CABG). Only 1%—11 facilities—of the 1,013 cardiac surgery programs in the United States included in this analysis and ranking received three stars in all three categories ranked, based on STS quality methodology.

2015

  • One of 15 Baylor Scott & White hospitals recognized as a 2014 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures® by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of healthcare organizations in the United States.
  • Received Press Ganey's Guardian of Excellence™ Award for Patient Experience based on both inpatient and emergency department scores.
  • First to launch usage of the Medtronic CareLink​ Express. This new technology allows faster data transmission of patients' pacemaker or defibrillator.
  • Voted the "Favorite Cardiology Group/Facility" in ADDISON - The Magazine of the North Dallas Corridors' 6th Annual Readers' Choice Awards.
