A one-year Texas Medical Board-accredited Structural Heart Training program for structural heart disease.

The Structural Heart Program team under the leadership of Molly Szerlip, MD, and Michael DiMaio, MD, provides an educational program of innovative multidisciplinary care for patients with advanced and complex structural heart disease.

From evaluation to treatment, this unique program is designed to deliver the best possible outcomes for each and every patient. With a vast diversity of medical expertise in our institution, our team is able to efficiently perform a multidisciplinary heart team evaluation, collaborate closely to develop a specialized treatment plan and continuously work together to provide patients with informed and effective cardiovascular care.

This clinical expertise is further enhanced by the team’s access to the best in medical technology. Our Cath Lab and Cardiac Surgery suites including hybrid ORs provide one of the highest volume programs in the country operating over 2,300 interventional procedures and over 1,800 open heart surgeries annually. Our structural program has performed over 1,000+ TAVR procedures. Additionally, The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano has ranked 16th in the country in the 2017 US News & World Report rankings of best hospitals for cardiology and heart surgery.

This fellowship is a well-structured, mentored program that will involve a clinic and procedural heart team approach to education and training in structural heart disease. In addition, the fellows will participate in a well-established research program that encompasses randomized multi-center trials, outcomes studies and funded investigator initiated studies.

As the largest not-for-profit health care system in Texas and one of the largest in the United States, Baylor Scott & White serves 41 counties through 52 hospitals, more than 1,200 access points, more than 7,100 active physicians, more than 52,000 team members and the Baylor Scott & White Health Plan.
