Inpatient training at Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC), a 1,000+ bed tertiary acute care hospital, provides residents with comprehensive experience in various settings. They manage a wide range of neurological conditions through standard inpatient services, handle neurological emergencies in the emergency department, and treat critically ill patients with complex neurological conditions in the neuro-critical care unit.
Residents also participate in procedures and interventions in the surgical suites and neuro-interventional radiology angio suites, while gaining access to advanced imaging and monitoring tools, including MRI, CT, and continuous video-EEG. Additionally, they collaborate with various subspecialties, including neurosurgery, critical care, psychiatry, and internal medicine, through consulting services. This diverse experience ensures that residents are well-prepared for all aspects of inpatient neurology care. .
