Volunteer at McLane Children's

We celebrate our volunteers and all they do at McLane Children’s! Volunteers who donate their time and talents to McLane Children’s play a vital role in delivering a positive experience for our patients and families. Our volunteers work alongside our healthcare teams and support our mission to promote the well-being of all individuals, families and communities.

Volunteer Services at McLane Children’s offers a variety of opportunities for volunteer work. Volunteers over the age of 18 who can make a significant time commitment and have a passion for helping others are a great fit for our program.

We ask that all volunteers commit to giving a minimum of three hours a week and at least 150 hours of service. College students seeking hours are asked to commit to two consecutive semesters.

To become a volunteer, please submit an application. Note that volunteers will be placed according to availability and the needs of the hospital.

Health Sciences Summer Camp

Health Sciences Summer Camp

McLane Children's is happy to announce the dates for the 2023

Health Sciences Summer Camp. The five-day program provides students enrolled in their high school's health sciences curriculum a “behind the scenes” look into pediatric healthcare. Students who are accepted will be assigned a unit or clinic where they will shadow a healthcare professional for 5 days, getting a first hand look at healthcare.

Students will engage in a blended workshop/observation experience, to learn the basics about the many fields that comprise healthcare. In addition, students will be assigned to a unit, department or clinic in which they will shadow a healthcare professional, observing healthcare in practice.

The camp is available to current 10th and 11th grade students. Student must commit to all 5 days.
