Our fellows gain experience in antimicrobial pharmacology, appropriate antimicrobial therapy, antimicrobial stewardship and quality improvement.
The two-year ACGME-approved Infectious Disease Fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center, part of Baylor Scott & White Health, includes rotations on the ID consult service – with more than 100 consults per month and significant exposure to general infectious diseases, transplant infectious diseases, HIV/AIDS and oncology – as well as clinical microbiology, antimicrobial stewardship, infection control and prevention, hospital epidemiology, a variety of electives, and HIV and continuity ambulatory clinic experiences.
We accept one fellow per year.

- General infectious diseases
- Infections in solid organ and bone marrow transplant recipients
- Primary and consultative care of the HIV-infected patient
- Chronic hepatitis
- Primary immunodeficiencies
- Outpatient HIV care

Infectious Disease Fellows also can elect to complete a one-month pediatric infectious diseases consultative rotation at Children’s Medical Center Dallas, which provides exposure to patient populations from neonate through adolescence.
Fellows also interact with medical students and residents in internal medicine, obstetrics-gynecology, general surgery, anesthesiology, dermatology, radiology, pathology and physical medicine and rehabilitation, as well as with fellows in multiple subspecialties.

Cómo aplicar
We use the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) to electronically accept fellowship applications, letters of recommendations, dean’s letters, transcripts and other credentials directly from your medical school.
Application requirements
Eligible applicants must have completed an internal medicine residency in an ACGME-accredited program and be board-eligible or board-certified. Foreign medical graduates must have a valid ECFMG certificate.
Be sure to include the NRMP registration number on the application, together with all other necessary documentation, including:
- Declaración personal
- CV
- Three letters of recommendation, including one from the program director of your internal medicine residency program
- USMLE scores (Steps I and II are required and Step III is desirable)
- Medical school transcripts
- A photo
After your application is complete, your file will be reviewed and applicants will be selected for an interview. The application deadline is septiembre 15.
