Our fellows benefit from training at a major interventional trial center where they will gain exposure to ongoing clinical trials, investigational devices and adjunctive therapies.

The Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center, part of Baylor Scott & White Health, is an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-accredited one-year program that provides one fellow 12 months of clinical training in coronary interventional procedures, peripheral interventions and structural heart procedures as well as experience in a longitudinal ambulatory clinic.

Our program boasts a 100 percent pass rate on interventional cardiology boards, and we have a student-faculty ratio of 1:7.

We accept one fellow per year.

As the largest not-for-profit health care system in Texas and one of the largest in the United States, Baylor Scott & White serves 41 counties through 52 hospitals, more than 1,200 access points, more than 7,100 active physicians, more than 52,000 team members and the Baylor Scott & White Health Plan.

About the program

Our fellows receive clinical training in coronary interventional procedures, peripheral interventions, structural heart procedures and experience in a longitudinal ambulatory clinic.

Within the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, fellows obtain detailed, extensive exposure to the essential components of adult invasive diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures. By the end of the training, the interventional cardiology fellow will have acquired the knowledge base, judgment and technical skills to become an independent operator in interventional cardiology. All fellows are required to maintain detailed documentation of the procedures they perform.
