We offer a small faculty-to-resident ratio and perform about 5,000 orthopedic surgical cases a year
The Orthopedic Surgery Residency program at Baylor University Medical Center, part of Baylor Scott & White Health, is a five-year program that is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
Almost a century ago, Baylor Dallas began training orthopedic surgeons, graduating its first orthopedic resident in 1921. Baylor Dallas is also credited for training the first female orthopedic surgeon in the United States, Ruth Jackson.
Our residents have the opportunity to study in a large, high-volume urban tertiary hospital with a Level I trauma designation. Our residents also have the unique opportunity for quality one-on-one time with the attendings.
We accept three residents per year.
